Ashraf Camp
Ashraf Camp, located in Iraq, was home to members of the People's Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI), an opposition group that has opposed the Iranian government. Established in the 1980s, the camp housed thousands of members seeking to promote democratic change in Iran. Over the years, the residents faced significant challenges, including military attacks and political controversies. In 2012, many members were relocated to Albania for safety and resettlement. Ashraf Camp symbolizes the complex interplay of politics, human rights, and the opposition movement against authoritarian regimes in the context of Iranian political history.
