Apollo 11 (lunar mission)

Apollo 11 was a historic space mission launched by NASA on July 16, 1969, with the goal of landing humans on the Moon. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins traveled aboard the spacecraft. On July 20, 1969, Armstrong and Aldrin landed the Lunar Module, named "Eagle," on the Moon's surface, while Collins orbited above in the Command Module. Armstrong became the first person to step onto the Moon, famously saying, "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind." The mission returned to Earth on July 24, successfully demonstrating human space exploration capabilities.
