Antifascist Action
Antifascist Action, often referred to as "Antifa," is a political movement opposing fascism and far-right ideologies. It emerged in various forms throughout the 20th century, gaining prominence in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Antifa activists typically engage in direct action, protests, and advocacy to counteract hate groups, xenophobia, and authoritarianism. The movement is decentralized and encompasses a range of strategies, from peaceful demonstrations to more confrontational tactics. Although it emphasizes anti-racism and social justice, some of its methods and the resulting controversies have sparked debate about the effectiveness and appropriateness of its approaches.
