Alexander's Campaigns

Alexander the Great’s campaigns took place in the 4th century BCE, where he sought to create a vast empire. Starting from Macedonia, he conquered the Persian Empire, which spanned regions of modern-day Turkey, Iran, and beyond. His military innovations and strategies led to decisive victories, such as the battles at Granicus, Issus, and Gaugamela. Alexander’s ventures also spread Greek culture across these territories, initiating the Hellenistic era. He pushed as far as India before his army, exhausted and longing for home, ultimately refused to march further. Alexander died young, but his legacy profoundly influenced the course of history.
