Ahom Kingdom

The Ahom Kingdom was a historical state in present-day Assam, India, established in the 13th century by the Tai Ahom people from Southeast Asia. It was known for its advanced culture, unique governance, and resistance against Mughal invasions. The kingdom thrived for nearly 600 years, promoting agriculture, trade, and a synthesis of diverse cultures. The Ahoms developed a distinct language and traditions, playing a significant role in the region's history. However, by the 19th century, the kingdom declined due to internal struggles and colonial pressures, ultimately falling under British control in 1826.
