Ahom Society

The Ahom society was centered around the Ahom kingdom in Northeast India, established by the Tai-speaking Ahom people in the 13th century. It was organized with a strong ruler, known as the Swargadeo, supported by a well-structured administrative system, military, and priestly class. Society was hierarchical but also valued community loyalty and tradition. The Ahoms excelled in governance, culture, and military strategy, maintaining sovereignty for centuries. They integrated local customs and Buddhism into their culture, fostering a unique identity that influenced the region’s history and social fabric.
