Sibsagar, also known as Sivasagar, is a historic town in northeastern India’s Assam state. It was the former capital of the Ahom kingdom, which ruled the region for centuries. The town is famous for its well-preserved ancient temples, tanks (large man-made water reservoirs), and palaces that reflect its rich cultural and architectural heritage.
