Yolk sac tumor

A yolk sac tumor is a type of germ cell tumor that typically occurs in the testicles of men or the ovaries of women, but can also appear in other areas of the body. It usually affects young adults and is considered a fast-growing cancer. This tumor originates from cells that would normally develop into reproductive cells. Symptoms may include swelling or a mass in the affected area. Treatment often involves surgery and chemotherapy. Despite being aggressive, yolk sac tumors can often be treated effectively, especially when detected early.
