Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor

Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor is a rare type of ovarian tumor that develops from the cells involved in hormone production within the ovary. It can produce male hormones called androgens, leading to symptoms like increased body hair, acne, and voice deepening. These tumors are usually benign but can sometimes be malignant. They are most common in women under 30 and are often treated with surgical removal. The diagnosis involves imaging, blood tests for hormone levels, and sometimes pathology examination after surgery. Early detection and treatment typically result in a good prognosis.
