United Nations Security Council Resolutions
United Nations Security Council Resolutions are formal decisions made by the UN Security Council to address global security issues, such as conflicts, sanctions, and peacekeeping. Each resolution is a response to a situation affecting international peace and security and can include measures like military action, economic sanctions, or diplomatic efforts. Resolutions require support from at least nine of the 15 council members and must avoid a veto from any of the five permanent members (the US, UK, France, Russia, and China) to be adopted. They are binding on UN member states, demonstrating global consensus on important issues.
