Triple Alliance
The Triple Alliance was a military agreement formed in 1882 between three countries: Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. The alliance was created to provide mutual support in case one of the countries was attacked or faced a threat. It aimed to counterbalance the influence of other powerful nations, particularly France and Russia. The alliance played a significant role in the events leading up to World War I, as it contributed to the division of Europe into competing factions that ultimately escalated into widespread conflict in 1914. Italy later switched sides during the war, leaving the alliance behind.
