Tripitaka
The Tripitaka, also known as the Pali Canon, is the traditional collection of Buddhist scriptures. It consists of three "baskets" (pitaka): the Vinaya Pitaka, which outlines monastic rules; the Sutta Pitaka, which contains the teachings of the Buddha; and the Abhidhamma Pitaka, which explores philosophical and doctrinal analysis. Compiled around the 1st century BCE, it serves as the foundational text for Theravada Buddhism and is crucial in preserving the Buddha's teachings and guiding the practices of Buddhist monks and laypeople alike.
