Thomas Müntzer
Thomas Müntzer was a German preacher and reformer during the early 16th century, known for his radical ideas during the Reformation. Unlike Martin Luther, Müntzer believed that true faith required social and political upheaval to overthrow oppressive systems. He advocated for the poor and oppressed, urging them to fight for justice and equality. Müntzer played a significant role in the Peasants’ War (1524-1525), leading uprisings against feudal lords. His fiery sermons and revolutionary stance made him a symbol of radical religious reform and social change, but he was ultimately captured and executed for his efforts.
