The Hanafi School

The Hanafi School is one of the four major Sunni Islamic legal schools of thought. Founded by Imam Abu Hanifa in the 8th century, it emphasizes reasoning, individual judgment, and consensus among scholars in interpreting Islamic law (Sharia). The Hanafi approach is known for its flexibility and adaptability to varying contexts, making it prevalent in many countries, including Turkey, South Asia, and parts of the Middle East. It allows for diverse practices and scholarly opinions, which helps accommodate the complexities of modern life while remaining rooted in Islamic principles.
