Madhhab

A Madhhab is a recognized school of Islamic legal thought that interprets and applies the Quran and Hadith to daily life. Within Islam, different scholars have developed various approaches to understanding religious laws, resulting in four main Sunni Madhhabs: Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali. These schools provide structured methods for resolving legal and ethical questions, often with slight variations in practices. While they share core beliefs, Madhhabs reflect diverse scholarly traditions that help Muslims navigate religious obligations while accommodating cultural and regional differences.
