The Ghadar Movement
The Ghadar Movement was a revolutionary campaign launched in the early 20th century by Indian immigrants, primarily in North America, against British rule in India. Founded in 1913 by the Ghadar Party, its members aimed to inspire Indians to rise up and achieve independence through armed struggle. The movement gained momentum during World War I, as many viewed the conflict as an opportunity to challenge British authority. Despite the government's crackdown and limited immediate success, the Ghadar Movement significantly contributed to the spirit of nationalism in India and laid the groundwork for future independence efforts.
