1914 Ghadar Conspiracy

The 1914 Ghadar Conspiracy was an effort by Indian revolutionaries, based mainly in the United States and Canada, to overthrow British colonial rule in India. Influenced by nationalist ideas and inspired by the 1911 Chinese Revolution, they aimed to mobilize Indian soldiers and workers to revolt against Britain during World War I. Although plans included military uprisings and sabotage, the conspiracy was largely thwarted by British intelligence, leading to arrests and imprisonments. It marked an early attempt by Indian independence advocates to challenge colonial authority using revolutionary methods outside India.
