Templars of Germany
The Templars of Germany refer to the medieval military order known as the Knights Templar, which operated in various parts of Europe, including Germany, during the Middle Ages. Founded in the early 12th century, the Templars originally aimed to protect Christian pilgrims in the Holy Land. They became renowned for their military prowess, financial acumen, and extensive network of properties. In Germany, they established commanderies and played a significant role in local politics and society until their suppression in the early 14th century, when they faced accusations of heresy and were disbanded by Pope Clement V.
