Margrave of Brandenburg
The Margrave of Brandenburg was a medieval noble title for a military governor responsible for defending and expanding a border territory called a margraviate within the Holy Roman Empire. Brandenburg, located in present-day Germany, was one such region. Over time, the title evolved into that of a prince, and its holders became significant rulers within the empire, eventually forming the core of the powerful Kingdom of Prussia. The Margrave of Brandenburg played a key role in regional politics, military defense, and territorial development during the Middle Ages and early modern period.
