Superheterodyne Receiver
A superheterodyne receiver is a device used in radios and communication systems to improve signal reception. It works by converting incoming radio signals to a fixed, lower frequency called an intermediate frequency (IF). This process involves mixing the received signal with a locally generated frequency, creating a new frequency that’s easier to amplify and filter. Once converted, the signal is processed further to retrieve the original audio or data. This technique allows for better selectivity and sensitivity, making it easier to receive clear signals even in environments with multiple overlapping transmissions.
