Amplitude Modulation Techniques
Amplitude Modulation (AM) is a technique used to encode information, such as sound, into radio waves. In AM, the strength (amplitude) of the carrier wave is varied in accordance with the information signal, while the frequency remains constant. This modulation allows radio signals to carry audio over long distances. When a radio receiver picks up the AM signal, it demodulates it to retrieve the original sound. AM is widely used in commercial broadcasting and is known for its simplicity and ability to travel long distances, although it can be more susceptible to interference compared to other modulation techniques.
