Sharif Hussein bin Ali
Sharif Hussein bin Ali (1854-1931) was an important Arab leader known for his role in the Arab Revolt against Ottoman rule during World War I. As the Sharif of Mecca, he aimed to unite Arab people in pursuit of independence and establish a single Arab state. His actions were partly motivated by a promise from the British for support in exchange for his assistance against the Ottomans. Following the war, his ambitions led to the establishment of several Arab nations, but his vision of a united Arab state did not fully materialize. He is often remembered as a key figure in Arab nationalism.
