Saints Cyril and Methodius
Saints Cyril and Methodius were 9th-century Byzantine monks and brothers who revolutionized Slavic culture by developing the Glagolitic alphabet, the first script for the Slavic languages. This innovation enabled the translation of religious texts into their native languages, fostering literacy and cultural identity. They are celebrated as creators of the Cyrillic alphabet, which is still used today in many Slavic countries. Their work greatly contributed to the spread of Christianity and learning among the Slavic peoples, and they are regarded as saints and cultural pioneers in Eastern Europe.
