Reflexivity
Reflexivity is the idea that our thoughts, beliefs, and actions can influence and shape the world around us, and conversely, that the world can affect our thoughts and beliefs. Essentially, it's a self-reinforcing loop where our perceptions and behaviors modify social reality, while that reality, in turn, impacts our perceptions and actions. For example, if people believe a stock price will rise, their buying can drive the price up, thus proving their initial belief right. Reflexivity underscores the interconnectedness of individual actions and collective outcomes in social, economic, and cultural contexts.
