Pyramid of Menkaure

The Pyramid of Menkaure is one of the three main pyramids on the Giza Plateau in Egypt, built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. It is the smallest of the three, standing at about 65 meters (213 feet) tall. Constructed as a tomb for Pharaoh Menkaure, it reflects ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife and the importance of royal burial. The pyramid originally had a smooth casing of limestone, which has mostly eroded away. Nearby, remnants of smaller pyramids and temples dedicated to Menkaure's queens can also be found, highlighting the site's significance in ancient Egyptian culture.
