Proto-Elamite script

The Proto-Elamite script is one of the earliest writing systems used in ancient Iran, dating back to around 3200-3000 BCE. It was developed by the Elamite civilization and consists of symbols that represent sounds and ideas. This script was primarily used for record-keeping and administrative purposes, such as tracking goods and transactions. Although it remains largely undeciphered, Proto-Elamite reflects the complexity of early human societies and their need for communication and organization. It marks a significant step in the evolution of writing, showcasing the advancement of civilization in the ancient Near East.
