PET Imaging

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging is a medical technique used to visualize how organs and tissues function inside the body. It involves injecting a small amount of radioactive material, known as a tracer, which is attracted to areas of high chemical activity, such as tumors or inflamed tissues. A special camera detects the energy emitted by the tracer and creates 3D images, helping doctors to diagnose diseases, assess conditions, and plan treatments. PET is often used in conjunction with other imaging methods to provide a clearer picture of a patient's health.
