Anti-Amyloid Therapy

Anti-amyloid therapy is a treatment approach aimed at reducing or preventing the buildup of amyloid plaques in the brain, which are linked to Alzheimer's disease. These plaques are abnormal clumps of protein that can disrupt communication between brain cells and lead to cognitive decline. By targeting and removing these amyloid proteins, anti-amyloid therapies seek to slow the progression of the disease and improve memory and thinking skills in individuals affected by Alzheimer's. Current therapies include medications designed to either break down the plaques or prevent their formation.
