Parliamentarianism
Parliamentarianism is a political system where the government is elected from and accountable to a parliament, which is a legislative body. In this system, the executive branch (the government) derives its legitimacy from the parliament and must maintain its confidence to stay in power. If the parliament loses confidence in the government, it can call for elections or other measures to remove it. This model allows for collaboration between different political parties and encourages a more direct representation of the electorate’s will, often leading to a more responsive and flexible governance compared to presidential systems.
