Oysters

Oysters are bivalve mollusks with rough, irregular shells that live submerged in freshwater or saltwater environments. They feed by filtering plankton and organic particles from the water through their gills. Oysters are biologically significant as they help improve water quality and provide habitat for other marine life. Many species reproduce by releasing eggs and sperm into the water, where fertilization occurs externally. Additionally, oysters are valued as a delicacy and are farmed or harvested commercially. They also produce pearl formations when irritants get trapped inside their shells, leading to the creation of pearls over time.
