Owain Glyndŵr
Owain Glyndŵr was a Welsh nobleman and military leader known for leading a significant revolt against English rule in Wales during the early 15th century. He proclaimed himself Prince of Wales in 1400 and sought to restore Welsh independence. Glyndŵr's rebellion sparked a national movement, marked by guerrilla warfare and the formation of a Welsh Parliament. Despite early successes, the revolt was ultimately quelled by English forces. Glyndŵr became a symbol of Welsh nationalism and resistance, and his legacy endures in Welsh culture and pride as a figure of sovereignty and self-determination.
