Nuchal Translucency

Nuchal translucency (NT) is a measurement taken during an early pregnancy ultrasound, usually between 11 to 14 weeks gestation. It assesses the fluid-filled space at the back of the baby's neck. A thicker NT can indicate a higher risk of certain chromosomal conditions, such as Down syndrome, and other potential health issues. This screening is part of the first-trimester prenatal tests and helps parents understand their baby's risk profile, allowing them to make informed decisions about further testing or monitoring during pregnancy. It’s a valuable tool for assessing fetal health.
