Non-Myeloablative Therapy
Non-myeloablative therapy is a type of medical treatment often used in stem cell transplantation and for certain cancers. Unlike traditional myeloablative therapy, which involves high doses of chemotherapy that destroy the bone marrow, non-myeloablative therapy uses lower doses. This approach aims to weaken the patient's immune system just enough to allow healthy donor stem cells to take over while minimizing damage to the body. It’s usually safer for older patients or those with other health issues, leading to fewer side effects and quicker recovery times while still helping the body fight cancer or restore healthy blood production.
