National ALS Association

The National ALS Association, founded in 1985, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to loss of muscle control and eventually paralysis. The Association supports research for better treatments and a potential cure, provides assistance to patients and their families, and raises awareness about the disease. Through advocacy, education, and community programs, they aim to improve the quality of life for those affected by ALS.
