NASA Task Load Index
The NASA Task Load Index (TLX) is a tool used to measure how much mental and physical effort people experience while performing a task. Developed by NASA, it assesses factors such as perceived workload, mental demand, physical demand, temporal demand, performance, and effort. Participants rate each factor on a scale, allowing researchers to understand the workload involved. This helps in designing better work environments, improving safety, and enhancing overall performance, particularly in high-pressure situations like space missions or complex engineering tasks.
