Napoléon Bonaparte was a French military leader and emperor who rose to prominence during the French Revolution. Born in 1769, he became known for his strategic brilliance on the battlefield and significant reforms in France. He established the Napoleonic Code, which influenced legal systems worldwide. In 1804, he declared himself Emperor and expanded French territories across Europe through a series of wars known as the Napoleonic Wars. His reign ended in 1815 after his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo. Napoléon's legacy includes the spread of nationalism and modern governance ideas, shaping Europe’s future long after his death in 1821.
