Mount Tambora
Mount Tambora is a volcano located on the island of Sumbawa in Indonesia. It is best known for its massive eruption in 1815, one of the most powerful in recorded history. This eruption significantly reduced global temperatures, leading to what is referred to as the "Year Without a Summer" in 1816, causing widespread crop failures and food shortages in the Northern Hemisphere. The eruption also created a caldera, or a large depression, at the summit. Tambora remains an active volcano and is a subject of study for its impact on climate and geology.
