Medina Charter
The Medina Charter, created around 622 CE, was an agreement in the city of Medina that established a multi-religious community among Muslims, Jews, and other groups. It outlined rights, responsibilities, and mutual cooperation to ensure peaceful coexistence and collective security. The Charter recognized diverse religious practices and set rules for resolving disputes, promoting unity amid different beliefs. It is considered one of the earliest documents advocating for coexistence and social harmony in a multicultural society, laying foundational principles for governance, diplomacy, and community solidarity.
