Marxist Theory

Marxist Theory, developed by Karl Marx, analyzes society through the lens of class struggle. It posits that history is driven by the conflict between the ruling class (bourgeoisie), who own the means of production, and the working class (proletariat), who sell their labor. Marx argued that capitalism leads to exploitation and social inequality, ultimately resulting in class conflict. He believed this would lead to a revolution, establishing a classless society where resources are shared equitably. Key concepts include historical materialism, alienation, and the idea that economic structures shape societal relationships.
