Line of Actual Control
The Line of Actual Control (LAC) is a term used to describe the de facto border between India and China in the disputed regions of Ladakh and Aksai Chin. Unlike an internationally recognized boundary, the LAC is not formally agreed upon by both countries, leading to conflicting claims and occasional military standoffs. It represents the line where Indian and Chinese troops are stationed, and both nations patrol the area. Tensions occasionally arise due to border disputes, as both countries assert their territorial claims, making the LAC a significant point of geopolitical contention in South Asia.
