Libertarian Paternalism

Libertarian Paternalism is a concept in behavioral economics suggesting that it’s possible to influence people’s choices in ways that promote their well-being while still respecting their freedom to choose. It involves designing choices or environments—called "nudges"—that gently guide individuals toward better decisions without restricting options. For example, placing healthier foods at eye level encourages better eating habits without banning junk food. This approach aims to help people make wiser decisions while preserving their autonomy, balancing guidance with individual freedom.
