La Porfiriana
La Porfiriana refers to a period in Mexican history during the late 19th and early 20th centuries when Porfirio Díaz served as president. This era, known for its political stability and economic modernization, promoted foreign investment, infrastructure development, and industrial growth. However, it also led to social inequality, repression, and the concentration of land in the hands of a few. Many Mexicans, especially peasants, were marginalized, contributing to widespread discontent. The injustices of this period ultimately sparked the Mexican Revolution in 1910, aiming to address the inequalities and demand democratic reforms.
