Porfirio Díaz's presidency

Porfirio Díaz was a Mexican leader who served as president several times between 1876 and 1911. His era, known as the Porfiriato, was marked by economic growth and modernization, including infrastructure development and attracting foreign investment. However, Díaz's rule was also characterized by political repression, limited civil liberties, and unequal wealth distribution. He maintained power through authoritarian means, suppressing dissent and controlling elections. His leadership ultimately sparked widespread unrest, leading to the Mexican Revolution in 1910, which ended his long presidency.
