Kelsen's Pure Theory of Law
Kelsen's Pure Theory of Law is a way of understanding law as a system of norms, or rules, that are separate from morality, politics, or social influences. Kelsen argued that law should be studied objectively, focusing on its structure and how laws relate to one another. He introduced the concept of a "basic norm," or fundamental rule, that underpins all legal systems. By focusing on the formal aspects of law, Kelsen aimed to provide a clear framework for understanding how laws are created, interpreted, and enforced, without being affected by emotional or ethical considerations.
