Karl von Frisch

Karl von Frisch was an Austrian ethologist known for his pioneering research on animal behavior, particularly bees. He discovered that honeybees communicate the location of food sources through intricate dances, known as the "waggle dance." This dance conveys information about distance and direction in relation to the sun. Von Frisch's work highlighted the complexity of animal communication and earned him the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1973, shared with two other scientists. His findings have contributed significantly to the field of zoology and our understanding of how animals interact with their environment.
