Bee Swarming
Bee swarming is a natural reproductive process where a colony of bees splits to form a new colony. Typically, this occurs in spring when a colony has grown large and has produced a new queen. The old queen, along with about half the worker bees, leaves the hive to find a new home, while the rest stay behind with the new queen. Swarming helps maintain bee population health and allows for the establishment of new colonies. During this time, bees may cluster temporarily on a tree branch or other surface while scout bees search for a suitable location.
