Kaiserliche Marine
The Kaiserliche Marine was the navy of the German Empire from 1871 until the end of World War I in 1918. Established under Emperor Wilhelm I and expanded under Wilhelm II, it aimed to rival the British Royal Navy. The fleet consisted of battleships, cruisers, and submarines, reflecting Germany's growing international ambitions. Its notable actions included the naval arms race with Britain and significant engagements during World War I, such as the Battle of Jutland. After the war, the fleet was largely disbanded and its ships were surrendered or destroyed as part of the Treaty of Versailles.
