Kriegsmarine

The Kriegsmarine was the navy of Nazi Germany during World War II. Established after World War I, it sought to rebuild Germany's naval power. The Kriegsmarine operated submarines (U-boats), surface warships, and auxiliary vessels, engaging in significant battles like the Battle of the Atlantic. Its primary goals included disrupting Allied supply lines and gaining naval dominance. However, it faced challenges, including technological limitations and effective Allied countermeasures. By the end of the war in 1945, the Kriegsmarine was largely defeated, and many of its ships were destroyed or captured, marking the end of its influence in modern naval warfare.
