The Kriegsmarine was the navy of Nazi Germany during World War II. Established after World War I, it sought to rebuild Germany's naval power. The Kriegsmarine operated submarines (U-boats), surface warships, and auxiliary vessels, engaging in significant battles like the Battle of the Atlantic.
