International Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (OTCA)

The International Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (OTCA) is a regional body that promotes cooperation among Amazonian countries, including Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. Established in 1995, its main goal is to foster sustainable development and protect the Amazon rainforest's diverse ecosystems. OTCA focuses on environmental conservation, economic integration, and social development, facilitating dialogue and collaboration among member states to address challenges like deforestation and climate change, while also respecting the rights and cultures of indigenous peoples living in the Amazon region.
