House of Ayyub

The House of Ayyub, also known as the Ayyubid dynasty, was a Muslim dynasty founded by Saladin in the 12th century. Originating in Egypt and Syria, it rose to prominence during the Crusades, particularly through Saladin's notable victories against the Crusaders, including the recapture of Jerusalem in 1187. The Ayyubids were known for their contributions to architecture, culture, and the promotion of education and the arts. The dynasty eventually declined by the late 13th century due to internal strife and external pressures, paving the way for the rise of the Mamluks.
